FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

ENIKŌ SKINCARE PRODUCTS

  • Are ENIKŌ skincare products Australian made?

Absolutely! All ENIKŌ products are made in Perth, Western Australia.

  • Are ENIKŌ products organic?

No, not all. While some products are formulated entirely from organic ingredients, not all ingredients for all products are available in an organic form. Organic ingredients are however extensively used and are identified on ingredients labels with a star (*). Where a product is formulated entirely from organic ingredients, it is identified by the term 'organic' in the product's name. Ingredients that are not organic, are however sourced from suppliers with either a strict sourcing policy and/or in-house laboratories that test for undesireable constituents.

  • I just reordered a product and it is different to the last one. Why is that?

ENIKŌ is a small batch manufacturer that uses minimally refined ingredients, resulting in variations in finished product. This is due to differences in strength, colour, odour, consistency and the like, in batches of sourced ingredients. Additionally, ENIKŌ does not use fillers that are usually used to address variations and make a more aesthetic product. Although, a product may appear and/or smelll slightly different to the last, rest assured there is no compromise in the finished product's efficacy.

  • Why does the statement 'Sediment occurs naturally' appear on some of the product labels?

ENIKŌ products are formulated using ingredients as close to their natural state as possible. The lack of extensive refining preserves the naturally beneficial constituents but also results in a more 'raw' product, some of which contain sediment. This sediment may settle after formulation of finished product. Sediment is entirely natural and is not an undesired foreign object. In fact, we recommend actively using every last drop in order to receive full benefits.

  • Why does the statement 'Do not contaminate with water' appear on some of the product labels?

ENIKŌ products are as pure as possible and contain no fillers to make up volume. The most common filler in beauty products is water, check your labels. It's often the number one ingredient, meaning it is the most by volume. Although extensively used, water is a troublesome ingredient as it is the means by which bacteria and mold grow. In order to counter this, all products containing water, must use relatively harsh preservatives and anti-bacterial agents. Most of these are undesireable with some even known to be carcinogens. As ENIKŌ products do not contain water, they also don't contain harsh preservatives and most certainly not syntheic ones. ENIKŌ products do contain botanical preservatives such as extracts of Aspen Bark and Magnolia but it is still recommended to avoid exposure of packaged product to water.

  • How will I know when my order has been received and despatched?

Upon receipt of an online order, you will receive an automatic acknowledgement by e-mail. A 'Status Update' e-mail will follow when your order has been manually processed at the first available opportunity during business hours. Lastly an Australia Post  tracking number will follow upon despatch. All of this usually takes place in one business day. If for some reason you have not experienced any of the above, please feel free to contact us via hello@eniko.com.au

NATUROPATHY

  • What is Naturopathy?

Naturopathy is a relatively modern term used to describe the treatment of injury or disease without the use of drugs or surgery. The profession termed Naturopathy first appeared in the United States around 1900 although, branches (aka modalities) of the discipline have been around for thousands of years and include Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, Ayurvedic, Middle Eastern and European Medicine.

Without doubt modern medicine has made remarkable discoveries and has undeniable benefits. At the same time, the development of pharmaceutical drugs has also evolved, however, the benefits of most, are becoming more and more questionable. Although drugs may cure or alleviate symptoms, a majority of the time they also have side effects, are impure and pollute the body with artificial chemicals, creating further problems and reliance on more drugs.

Modern clinical research is proving that more and more traditional treatments are in fact effective. Herbs, for example are being shown to have remarkable properties. Concurrently, we are also beginning to better understand the intricate functions of our bodies such as the effects of beneficial bacteria in our gut and how they affect digestion, nutrient absorption as well as mood and immunity.

  • What can I expect during an initial consultation?

An initial consultation generally lasts between 1 hour to 1hour 30 minutes. Your consultation begins before you arrive with the completion of an online comprehensive questionnaire that you have submitted for review. This is required to get an understanding of the patient and their complaints. It provides an opportunity for any preparation and ensures efficient use of the appointment.

On the day, you will have your vital signs measured and recorded and any samples that may be required for pathological testing, taken. Reasonably straight forward cases receive a treatment protocol and where appropriate, a custom made herbal tonic, supplements and/or probiotics etc., on the day. For more complex cases, where further research is required, a treatment protocol and accompanying prescription is provided in the following days. Lastly, you will make an appointment for a follow-up consultation to review your progress.

  • What about afterwards?

Following your initial consultation, you will need to allow some time for your treatment protocol to take effect. Remember, your body is healing itself, naturally. In most cases you won’t be feeling immediate results. Instead, you will be feeling better in a week or two as the changes you have made take effect.

A follow-up consultation is generally booked in two weeks time from when you started your treatment protocol. This appointment lasts approximately 30 minutes. During this time and as necessary, you will have your vital signs measured, any pathological test results reviewed, as well as your progress to date and any adjustments in protocol or prescriptions will be made. Further consultations are usually only required in reasonably complex cases.

During the whole process, ENIKŌ provides complimentary phone and e-mail support. If a patient has any questions, feedback or simply requires some encouragement, we're happy to hear from you.

  • Can I claim any health insurance benefits?

ENIKŌ is registered with a number of major Australian health insurance providers as Naturopathy consultations were previously covered. Unfortunately though, legislation changes have meant that most if not all health insurance providers, no longer cover Naturopathy consultations or products. It may however pay to double check with your insurer.
